FICCI Council on Corporate Finance
In order to look into the issues that members of corporate India face with regard to their financing needs, FICCI has set up a Council on Corporate Finance. The Council is chaired by Mr. Harsh Pati Singhania, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, JK Paper Ltd; with Mr. Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director and CEO, Indian Metal and Ferro Alloys Limited and Mr. Srikanth Balachandran, Global CFO, Bharti Airtel as Co-Chairs.
The objective of the Council is to focus on the policy issues having a bearing on the funding needs of industry including raising money through the markets through IPOs, ADRs, GDRs; corporate bond market, ECB, M & A financing, securitization, etc. The Council will also seek to work with the government towards developing an active market for securitization and corporate bonds. Over time, the Council seeks to have interaction and engagement with concerned institutions including the Reserve Bank of India, Securities Exchange Board of India and Ministry of Finance for a discussion on the key financing related issues being faced by the industry.
