Conference on Potential of Plastics Industry in Northern India with special focus to Plasticulture and Packaging
Apr 18, 2017, Chandigarh
India currently supports nearly 18% of world’s population with 2.4% land resources and 4% of water resources. The Indian Agriculture sector is consuming almost 80% of available water. As per International Water Management Institute, during the past decade, groundwater depleting is alarming.

Plasticulture (viz: the use of plastics in agriculture, horticulture, water-management, food grains storage and related areas) is a good answer to this challenge. There is need to encourage the plastic sector to enable it to realize its potential in the region. FICCI with the support of Department of C&PC & Department of Agriculture Cooperation & farmers Welfare, Govt. Of India has been organizing annual conferences at Chandigarh since 2013 on the issue.
