The launch of “Make in India” campaign by the Hon’ble Prime Minister stressed focus on improving the competitiveness of manufacturing and MSME units. Global competition requires focus on competitiveness strength, market acceptable costs, technology, innovation, service delivery, lean manufacturing, and defect free products for Zero Defect and Zero Effect (ZED). Operationally it is meant to evolve from a total dependency on inspection of the final product to correct defect, to a proactive process of enablers of quality like quality planning, product and process designing, optimum processes, efficient resource management, effective outsources activities and breakthrough outcomes.
Against this backdrop, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organising a Learning Mission on Manufacturing Excellence on 12 – 13 October 2017 to Bengaluru wherein the participants would visit Volvo India Pvt Ltd and L&T Construction Equipment Ltd. It would be an opportunity to learn and understand the best manufacturing and quality practices in sync with our endeavour to promote learning through sharing.
