The key focus of FICCI Creative Industries Division is to drive policy in the arts both at the state and national level. In order to do so we have set up an annual conference to bring together members of our diverse community to discuss, network and build a sustainable group that can set in place best practices, safeguard our culture and diversity, reaffirm our traditions of being inclusive and work with governments and others to look at tax, infrastructure, and other needs for the sector. The conference is scheduled on February 15, 2018 in New Delhi.
The previous year’s conference Smart Cities, Art Cities held on December 19-20, 2016 at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. It had brought together various stakeholders of art including the government bodies, corporates, policymakers, artists, curators, writers, scholars and students to discuss the idea of finding sustainable solutions and policy changes for art and culture. The sessions has focused on a broad spectrum of issues covering Cultural Sustainability, Infrastructure Development, Arts Policies, Design and Technology. In the next conference we are working to build sessions around Arts Policy, the State and Law; Sponsorship and Grants opportunities; Taxation - incentives, service tax waivers, GST Effect; Design & Skill development for artisans, craftsperson etc.
