Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi underlined the challenges to overcome country’s both internal and external security threats on Wednesday while addressing at the summing-up session of a two-day FICCI-India Foundation’s convention on ‘Homeland Security-2016: Smart Borders Management’ at the national capital.
Mehrishi said, “Feeling secured is as important as being secured. We need to build more expertise to overcome difficulties over country’s security.”
“The country needs more enhanced procurement capacity, advanced identification system, surveillance equipments and more advanced weapons, that we are lacking,” the Home Secretary added.
Amid Kashmir unrest and recent violence in Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, the Home Secretary feels that the country must also have a good ecosystem of intelligence to overcome the country’s internal security threats and it needs enhanced legal framework.
