Google's Gives India MyBusiness Digital Training

After multiple India-first product launches in 2016, Google with Sundar Pichai are back, this time with gifts for the small and medium business. With MyBusiness, Google wants more than 32% of the 51 million Indian SMBs to go digital, and with this platform, they intend to do just that.

Google has set up a digital training programme, supporting mobile devices, further catapulting PM Modi’s Digital India mission. The offline training is being conducted in partnership with FICCI and over the next three years, 5,000 workshops will be held across 40 Indian cities.

With Digital Unlocked, Google is committed to ensuring that every single small business in India that wants to go digital has access to quality training.

The tutorials comprise of subjects like building a web presence and enabling business to grow online, and reaching customers over mobile and video. The training is certified by Google, Indian School of Business and FICCI. According to a KPMG study cited by Google, 68% of the 51 million Indian SMBs are offline.

With digital programmes, Google hopes SMBs can contribute up to 46-48% of India’s GDP by 2020

To take businesses in India mobile, Google’s announced Primer, a free mobile app uniquely designed to teach digital marketing skills, available to Android and iOS users in the country.
