VIT awarded FICCI certificate of excellence

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has awarded a Certificate of Excellence for Internationalisation of Education to Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for its achievements in higher education.
Dilip Chenoy, secretary general of FICCI, handed over the certificate to VIT during a function held in New Delhi on Tuesday, G. Viswanathan, chancellor of VIT said. The certificate was being given every year to educational institutions providing world-class education, according to a press release.
He said that VIT had entered into a tie-up with over 243 educational institutions in the world. It also received the QS Star rating from the UK-based agency every year. The laboratory of the School of Civil Engineering has received NABL certification from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories of the Department of Science and Technology. The certificates were issued to laboratories of higher educational institutions where research is carried out to establish the strength of structural materials, he said.
G.V. Selvam, vice president and Anand A. Samuel, vice chancellor of VIT were present, the release said.
