FICCI FLO welcome union Budget terms it pro women and pro farmer

FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) the business women wing of FICCI has welcomed the Union budget for the year 2019 and termed it pro salaried class, farmers and women.

“The full Tax rebate given to tax payers with annual income upto Rs Five Lakh is welcome and will benefit about Three crore middle class tax payers in the country. The financial sops to Medium and small enterprises in the budget are also welcome as this sector is the backbone of country’s economy” said Ms Pinky Reddy, President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) welcoming the Union Budget.

“The tax benefit to salaried class and financial benefits will leave lots of extra finance with these two sectors giving boost to consumer and other consumer related industries” Ms Reddy said

“The Two per cent interest rebate on incremental loans of Rs One crore.The increased requirement of sourcing from Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) to 25 % , of this , the material to the extent of at least Three Per cent to be sourced from Women owned business enterprises. This was our long-standing demand and will help business owned by women entrepreneurs ” she said.

“FICCI ladies also welcomes various incentives for small and marginal farmers in the budget and also welcome mega mega pension plan for unorganized sector, the government should focus more on lakhs of women working in the unorganized sector. FLO also welcomes more sanction of LPG cylinders under ‘Ujwala’ Yojna, this will help rural women in a big way” Ms Reddy said.

“FICCI ladies seeks more government support for women empowerment in the including setting up of all women industrial park, creating mahila haats in various states, a separate budget for women skill development and procuring goods from women business establishments “said Ms Reddy.

“Focus should also be on skills development programs for women (including re-skilling for outdated skills) – organisations mandated to do so internally” she added

“The budget should have had more focus on the implementation of the policy initiatives on the financial inclusion for poor women – including more support for women in rural areas to start their micro businesses.” she said

“I am hopeful, I am confident, that with the trajectory of PM Modi’s budget 2019-20 women will soon find their glorious position back in our society. “she said.
