Beed's SP Poddar gets FICCI honour

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) has awarded ‘Best Community Policing’ award to Beed superintendent of police Harssh Poddar.
At a recent event held in Delhi, the 2013 batch IPS officer was given the award by minister of state for Prime Minister’s office Jitendra Singh.
Harssh, an Oxford-educated lawyer and Chevening scholar, was awarded for three of his initiatives - The Maharashtra Police Youth Parliament Project, extensive campaign against fake news on social media that resulted in to series of mob lynching in different parts of the country and for initiating project Udaan that provides free career guidance to students in zones of communal conflicts.
When contacted, Poddar said, “It is an honour for me to be awarded by FICCI. The issue of community policing, bridging gaps between members of different communities and ensuring justice for the most deprived are the subjects that have remained close to my heart.”
He added, “The Youth Parliament Project is a flagship project of Maharashtra Police to fight battle against crime and radicalization through large-scale psychological reform.”
