The first FICCI Wellness 2009 Conference pioneered the release of a Knowledge Paper on the Wellness Industry. The Conference set off pertinent policy changes such as QCI (Quality Council of India) prepared the guidelines and standards for Health and Wellness. NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation provided assurance to wellness centers complying with statutory and regulatory requirements. The FICCI Wellness Conference 2010 triggered a Spa movement in India.
Several representations and memorandums are submitted to the relevant authorities apart from organizing seminars and conferences on the contemporary issues.
FICCI's 3rd Annual Wellness Conference was held in September 2011 focusing on 'Riding the Growth Wave'. The conference was supported by Ministry of Tourism, GOI and Ministry of Health, GoM, NABH-QCI. From the discussion at the conference, FICCI presented a 'Six point agenda' to the government for the betterment of the stakeholders in the wellness space.
