Session I - January 23, 2024 (Tuesday) - 2:30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.

An update on key decisions, circulars, notifications and amendments made pursuant to 52nd meeting of the GST Council

1. Understanding the impact of various demand notices/clarifications/amendments under GST made in the last one year and the impact on key sectors of the economy;

2. Understanding the impact of various decisions taken in the 52nd meeting of the GST Council:-

1. Centre ceding the right to tax ENA for use in alcohol for human consumption to the States;

2. Taxability of personal guarantee offered by directors to the bank against the credit limits/loans being sanctioned to the company;

3. Corporate guarantee provided by related persons including corporate guarantee provided by holding company to its subsidiary company;

4. Impact of other key changes made in rate of supply of various goods and services;

5. Various issues related to place of supply;

6. Other decisions taken by the GST Council to herald a facilitative tax regime which promotes ease of doing business.

3. Analysing the trend of collections under GST regime.

1 Overview of concept of reverse charge mechanism under GST, issues and controversy surrounding the same, changes made so far;

2 Taking a stock of issues faced under audits in GST regime and way forward;

3 Recent landmark decisions and issues surrounding writ petitions;

4 Other key areas of potential litigation under GST
