FICCI presents Pankaj Smart Policing Award

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry presented scientific officer Pankaj Shrivastava with Smart Policing Award under the category ‘Other Policing Initiative’ on Thursday.
He was awarded for research work in DNA Fingerprinting Direct Protocol.
Under the guidance of DGP Madhya Pradesh Forensic Science department has worked excellent at various levels and encouraged to work at par with advanced, efficient and developed laboratories.
The State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Sagar and Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) Gwalior, Jabalpur and Bhopal are working like national and international laboratories. In the past few days the serious nature of crimes related with body DNA testing has played an important role which defines the T-Trained and Techno savvy of Smart Policing.
Meanwhile, with the aim to under functioning of police and making the research feasible six week Police internship programme for students of PG and few streams of graduations have been started; first batch would commence from June 1 to July 12.
Under the scheme PG students and five year course law and engineering students could apply with the district Superintendent of the Police.
The students would complete 6 week internship in understanding the police functioning at the police stations and after the completion they would submit a report of the internship. The internship would be offered every year.
This year the maximum number of applicants are 150 each from Bhopal and Indore zone, from Jabalpur zone 50 applications have been received while from Sagar and Gwalior zone 20 and 85 applicants have applied respectively.
