Bengal Global Business Summit attracts top business leaders FICCI partners West Bengal in promoting the state as an attractive investment destination

KOLKATA, 16 January 2018: Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), the flagship Investment Summit organised by Government of West Bengal has continued to witness the presence of significant political dignitaries and business delegates from around the globe, underling both the primacy of West Bengal as an attractive investment destination and a stable and progressive policy regime.

 

Bengal Global Business Summit 2018 is being organized by Government of West Bengal on 16-17 January 2018 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata with FICCI as the Summit Partner.

 

The first day of the Summit was attended by political dignitaries from India and abroad and national and international speakers who shared their thoughts and experiences. Host of prominent industrialists including Mr. Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director, Reliance Industries Ltd; Mr. L.N. Mittal , Chairman & CEO, Arcelor Mittal; Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Group; Mr. Kishore Biyani, Group CEO, Future Group; Mr. Uday Kotak, Executive Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.; Mr. Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group addressed the Summit.

 

Several Past Presidents of FICCI, Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group; Dr. Jyotsna Suri, CMD, Bharat Hotels; Mr. Saroj Poddar, Chairman, Adventz Group; Mr. Y K Modi, Chairman & CEO, Great Eastern Energy Corporation Ltd. were present at the inaugural session of the Summit.


Over 400 international delegates from 32 countries attended the summit. 9 Countries - Japan, Germany, Italy, Poland, South Korea, France, Czech Republic, UK, UAE joined the Summit as Partner Country.

 

The International Plenary Session witnessed speeches from the Ambassadors from Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Gabon. Business and Official Delegation from JETRO - Japan, KOTRA - Korea, CCPIT � Shandong, China, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre - UAE , US India Strategic Partnership Forum, Federation of Bangladesh India Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Australia India Business Council, , Scottish Development International, Asia Scotland Institute � UK, Indo  - Polish Chamber of Commerce, Italy, Serbia attended the summit.

 

Sectoral sessions on Chemicals, Petrochemicals & Downstream, Textile & Apparel, Tourism, IT/ITES & Start Up were  organized on day 1.
