Launch of National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) By Ministry Of Environment, Forest and Climate Change a Landmark Step

NEW DELHI, 11 January, 2019: The launch of National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India in New Delhi yesterday will play a pioneering role in addressing the problem of air pollution at the regional and national levels.
This initiative is a time bound national level strategy for pan-India implementation to tackle the increasing air pollution problem across the country in a comprehensive manner. The approach for NCAP includes collaborative, multi-scale and cross-sectoral coordination between the relevant central ministries, state governments and local bodies. The programme will cover 102 cities and is expected to reduce air pollution levels by 20-30% by 2024.
