CIM Piyush Goyal Unveils India Pavilion Design In Dubai

Says, PM's goal of making India a $5 Trillion Economy completely doable

 

DUBAI, 21 September, 2019: Commerce and Industry & Railways minister Mr Piyush Goyal today unveiled the India Pavilion design of the WORLD EXPO 2020 in Dubai and said this is the time for the country to engage with every nation and grasp the opportunity that has come its way to become a superpower.

The minister also thanked the Indian diaspora in UAE for the excellent work they had done to support Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi develop a strong bonding between the two countries.

Mr Goyal said that PM Modi's goal of making India a USD 5 trillion economy is completely doable if all the stakeholders come and work together.

He said that the Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ms Nirmala Sitharaman have expressed India�s determination of achieving high growth by announcing the tax measures this week, which will boost India's competitiveness and bring India into the comparative league of countries that are competing for investments.

The minister expressed optimism about India becoming the country with even lower tax incidence, going ahead. "We all must work together to see how we can showcase India for attracting investments," said Mr Goyal, adding that the WORLD EXPO 2020 beginning October next year is a big opportunity to achieve this objective.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Navdeep Suri said that the work related to EXPO 2020 has seen new dynamism with the involvement of FICCI and commended the Commerce and Industry minister for his leadership in the efforts to guide trade and investment relations.

"Indian community in Dubai has the greatest stake in the success of EXPO 2020," said Mr Vipul, Consul General of India in Dubai.

FICCI Sr Vice President Ms Sangita Reddy while outlining the features of the India Pavilion said, "It is indeed an honour for us to work with our Government and with full support of the Industry both the Indian and the NRI industry for showcasing to the world best that India has." FICCI is the industry partner of the Indian government in its participation at the WORLD EXPO 2020.

Mr Nimish Makwana, President IBPC and Past President FICCI, Mr Rashesh Shah were among the business leaders present during the unveiling of the India Pavilion design by the Commerce and Industry Minister.
