FICCI welcomes GST Council decisions

NEW DELHI, 15 March 2020: FICCI welcomes the decision of the GST Council to exempt certain class of registered persons from issuing e-invoices or capturing dynamic QR code and further extending implementation of the same to 1st October 2020.
Dr Sangita Reddy, President, FICCI said, "The decision is in line with recommendation made by FICCI. The discussions in the Council to find a solution to improve the overall functioning of GST portal is a step in the right direction."
The decision regarding continuation of existing system of furnishing returns under GST till September 2020 would provide a big relief to the taxpayers. The GST Council�s decision to extend the due date for filing the annual return and reconciliation statement for financial year 2018-19 to June 30, 2020 is a positive measure and would provide time for compliance to the taxpayers.
