Conventionally, the major weaknesses of public health insurance schemes have been non-viable reimbursement rates and delays in payments to the hospitals, affecting the financial sustainability of such schemes with the empanelled hospitals. Task Force has developed FICCI Paper titled ‘Demystifying Healthcare Costs: A Scientific Approach’ - India’s first study on costing of select medical procedures across private and public hospitals. The Paper was released during FICCI HEAL 2018 by Dr V K Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, Government of India.
