Healthcare Workforce Strengthening

Shortage of skilled health workforce at all levels across the continuum of care has been a major concern in India. The government has been working towards bringing in reforms in medical education and has also increased PG seats to help enhance the number of specialists in the country.

FICCI has been consistently submitting suggestions of the industry (through various Reports/Papers) on the need for increasing the healthcare workforce as well as policy changes needed for medical education and training in the country. Over the last two years, FICCI has submitted various recommendations on reforms needed for healthcare workforce, including specialists, nurses as well as paramedics -

  • Note on ‘Strategies for Strengthening number of Specialist Doctors’ in the country
  • Strategies for specifically increasing the number of DNB/FNB enrolments.
The Task Force will analyse the reforms undertaken along with the current gaps and provide further recommendations.
