Advocacy on Incentives for augmenting Healthcare Infrastructure
The Government of India has taken various measures in the recent past to support the augmentation of healthcare infrastructure along with launching and revisiting the schemes for financing support to the private sector. However, there is a need for greater awareness amongst the industry as well as banks on these schemes especially in cities beyond the metros, along with incentives and provisions that will attract investors to set up hospitals in Tier II, III and IV cities.
Over the years, FICCI has been suggesting various incentives for the industry to help in creation and expansion of healthcare facilities across the country. Recently Ministry of Finance constituted a Working Group on Healthcare & Education to understand why the Loan Guarantee Scheme launched last year has not seen many takers. FICCI members have represented and shared concerns on government financing schemes and recommendations have been submitted to the Ministry again.
