New Delhi. 27 April 2022. Emerging technologies evolve every day, making the domain consistently disruptive and constantly evolving. Organisations are figuring out how to take advantage of the emerging technologies and the driving force behind the ongoing transformation and expansion of the Digital Economy. It was also the theme of Day 2 of FICCI's annual initiative Digital Bharat.
Continuing the tone set by Day 1, the second day started with a keynote address by Shri Abhishek Singh, Managing Director & CEO, Digital India Corporation (DIC), President & CEO, National e-Governance Division (NeGD) & CEO, MyGov, Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India. He spoke on the socio-economic impact of technology in our daily lives.
"Internet is the great equaliser for a country by making information accessible to all, and new-age technologies are further expanding this growth", he said.
In the Plenary Session on "New Age Technologies Enabling the Expansion and Growth of Digital Economy of India", deliberations centred on emerging technologies like AI, Cloud, and Analytics and how these impact the digital economy sector. Ms Gowree Gokhale, Partner, Nishith Desai Associates, moderated the discussions. The panellists included Mr Vineet Jaiswal, Group Chief Digital & Technology Officer, Vedanta Group, Mr Mohammed Anzy S, Chief Operating Officer, SAP, Mr Kanishka Agiwal, Head - Service Lines, Public Sector, India/South Asia, Amazon Web Services, Mr Sandeep Dutta, Chief Practice Officer - APAC, Fractal.AI, Mr Rohit Paranjpe, Founder and CEO, Sugarbox Networks, and Mr Praveen Gosain, Director, Corning Technologies India Private Limited.
The session was followed by a keynote address from Mr Sameer Mahapatra, Vice President & Country Manager - India & SAARC, Aeris Communications, on the topic "Expanding Digital India with IoT, Smart Devices, and Multi-Devices Ecosystem", and a case study presentation by Dr Amit Andre, Chief Executive Officer, The DataTech Labs on "An insight into top tech innovations used in UAE Government Departments".
The day concluded with a Plenary Session on Cloud and Data Centres - Enabling Next Phase of Digital Transformation. The session discussed how the cloud and data centre ecosystem is further accelerating the digital transformation journey of India and what role the stakeholders have to play for the further development of this ecosystem.
