Mr Harsha Vardhan Agarwal (48 yrs), a second-generation leader of the diversified business conglomerate, Emami Group, is a man with a purpose. A key member of the strategic think-tank committee, Harsha is the younger son of Mr Radhe Shyam Agarwal, Founder of the Group. His intrinsic dynamism with a penchant for learning from every situation, led him to always be in the forefront to drive the organization. Awarded as one of the India’s Hottest Young Business Leaders in the prestigious ‘FORTY UNDER 40’ list put together by The Economic times & Spencer Stuart in 2016, Harsha, with his extensive multi-functional knowledge, experience and a progressive mindset, spearheads the flagship FMCG business of the Group – Emami Limited as its Vice Chairman & Managing Director.

An enterprising person and a quintessential professional with a penchant for details and depth, Harsha has tremendous application of mind and a feisty dedication to work. He is steady and calm with a focused leadership, coupled with a steely resolve. He passionately steers the organization with a futuristic outlook, while continuing to strengthen its core values.

Emami’s various key acquisitions such as Zandu Pharmaceuticals in 2008, Kesh King in 2015, German brand – Creme 21 in 2019, Dermicool in 2022 and strategic investments in few new-age start-ups like Brillare, The Man Company, AloFrut, TruNative & The Fur Ball Story stand testimony to this.

Harsha was one of the very few select entrepreneurs of India to have attended a two-day seminar, ‘Champions of Change’ – a Young Entrepreneurs Meet with Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in August 2017 organized by NITI Aayog. The seminar was held to discuss and take suggestions on critical policy issues and the challenges the country is facing today.

Harsha is currently the Senior Vice President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the largest and oldest apex business organization in India and is poised to take over as its President in November 2024. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization as well as a member of the Executive Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Harsha was initiated into the family business at an incredibly young age, where he learnt the basics of leadership and brand building with a hands-on approach. He is married to Mansi Agarwal and has one daughter and a son. A family person at heart, Harsha likes to spend quality time with his family whenever he gets a break from his work. A keen fitness enthusiast, Harsha’s favourite pastime is reading and watching movies.

Jyoti is a business economist by training and a seasoned industry leader with nearly three decades of work experience with apex Indian industry associations. Through the years, she worked across multiple sectors and with a large set of stakeholders on policy and business issues. She is currently responsible for overseeing the operations of FICCI including its outreach to members of Indian industry across sectors and regions.

Jyoti regularly interfaces with senior government officials, multilateral organisations and industry leaders on large number of economic issues and projects. She has contributed to several policy initiatives of the government aimed towards enhancing the ease of doing business in the country and improving the competititvess of Indian industry. She has been part of government committees on various subjects and has handled numerous projects with multilateral organisations.

She also contributes to the investment promotion activities of the government.

Prior to her appointment as the Director General, Jyoti had led teams looking after multiple areas including economic affairs, financial services, corporate laws, corporate governance, taxation, manufacturing, agriculture, small and medium enterprises amongst others. Besides policy areas, Jyoti has also worked in institutionalizing important centres of excellence at FICCI such as the FICCI-Aditya Birla Centre for CSR and the FICCI Centre for Sustainability Leadership.

Jyoti is an alumnus of the Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi and Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi.

Naina Lal Kidwai is Chairman Rothschild & Co India, Senior Advisor Advent Private Equity, Senior Advisor TPG Rise Climate and Venture Advisor Lightspeed Venture Partners, India. She is a Non Executive Director on the boards of Holcim, Gland Pharma, UPL and Biocon and Past President of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry). She retired in December 2015 as Executive Director on the board of HSBC Asia Pacific and Chairman HSBC India and in April 2018 from the global board of Nestle.

She is a member of the INDO-ASEAN Business Council, Army Group Insurance Fund’s investment advisory committee, Harvard Business School’s South Asia Advisory Board and Standard Chartered Bank’s International Advisory Council.

An MBA from Harvard Business School, she is the recipient of several awards and honours including the Padma Shri for her contribution to Trade and industry. She is engaged with institutions in environment, water and sanitation and has authored 3 books including the bestsellers “30 women in Power: Their Voices, Their Stories” and “Survive Or Sink: An Action Agenda for Sanitation, Water, Pollution, and Green Finance”.

She chaired the Primary Markets Advisory Committee of SEBI and has been a member of the Government of India’s Industry Task Force, the Prime Minister’s Trade and Industry Council, the National Manufacturing Council, the National Trade Council, the Working Group on Banking, Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission and the National Institute of Bank Management.

Her interests in Water, Sanitation and the environment and empowerment of women are reflected in her current engagements as Chair of FICCI’s Water Mission, Chair of FICCI’s Sustainability Council, Founder and Chair of the India Sanitation Coalition and Advisory Board Member Wildlife Conservation Trust. Past engagements include Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, International Advisory Council of the Inquiry of United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Commissioner for the Global Commission on Economy & Climate and The Rockfeller Foundation Economic Council for Planetary Health.
