Awareness Raising Events
The Center also supports ad hoc IP awareness events throughout the year, targeting specific sectors, regions, or emerging IP-related opportunities - extending reach to a wider audience of entrepreneurs and business professionals.
IP Diagnostics Tool
Not sure where to start with IP? The WIPO IP Diagnostics Tool helps businesses take stock of their intellectual property in a simple, guided way.
By answering a short series of questions about their business and innovation activities, companies receive a personalized overview of the types of IP that may be relevant to them - along with practical next steps. The tool is free, available online, and requires no prior IP knowledge.
The India edition covers a comprehensive range of IP issues relevant to the Indian context, including patents, industrial designs, trade secrets, trademarks, copyright, and geographical indications. By answering targeted questions, Indian small businesses can generate customized reports that offer actionable insights. WIPO
The tool tailors its evaluation to India's IP laws - for example, if a user indicates having employees and producing copyrighted materials, the tool provides insights related to the Copyright Act of India, and may suggest practical measures such as drafting Non-Disclosure Agreements to safeguard IP assets.
The tool is entirely free and can be completed in about an hour, generating a comprehensive, tailor-made report that can be downloaded in PDF format. The assessment can be conducted as frequently as needed.
The India edition is available in 10 languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Malayalam, and Odia.
