Event Overview & Highlights
The programme brought together regulators, industry experts, researchers, technology providers, and manufacturing industries to discuss sustainable wastewater management, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, regulatory developments, and emerging treatment technologies.
The inaugural session featured Smt. H. D. Varalaxmi, Scientist 'F' & Regional Director, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Chennai, and Er. V. Pushpalatha, District Environmental Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB). The programme also marked the release of the Knowledge Paper on "Wastewater Management and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems."
Mr. V. S. Bhaskar, Technical Expert on Wastewater Management & ZLD Systems, IIT Kanpur & FICCI, led several technical sessions covering wastewater treatment technologies, membrane systems, evaporation technologies, automation, AI/ML applications, and operational strategies for implementing efficient ZLD systems. Prof. Indumathi M. Nambi, IIT Madras, delivered a session on innovative approaches to reducing operational costs in textile industry ZLD systems.
The programme also featured expert presentations from CSIR–CLRI and leading technology companies, providing participants with practical insights into sustainable water management, resource recovery, and emerging technologies for enhancing industrial water efficiency.
