Overview
FICCI and the Indian Navy had convened a pathbreaking industry-academia-DRDO-user international seminar addressing emerging technologies for naval applications in April 2016 in New Delhi. This international seminar drew a lot of all-round interest and was a grand success. FICCI have since received great encouragement to continue this series and accordingly, the second edition of the International Seminar on “Building India’s Future Navy: Technology Imperatives” will be held on May 31 - June 1, 2017, at Taj Palace, New Delhi.
The seminar is in consonance with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call for “Make in India” and “Skill India”, and intends to generate a roadmap towards building a strong defence industrial base in the country, with emphasis on co-development of futuristic technologies, products and equipment for the Indian and global markets. This year the focus of the seminar is on disruptive technologies, new scientific discoveries, and technological & operational doctrines that are transforming warfare. The discussions will help in understanding the constantly changing technological paradigm in the mid to long term, and to respond appropriately against emergency and security challenges.
