FICCI is organizing “Accelerating the Road Infrastructure : New India @75 - 2nd edition of FICCI Roads and Highways Summit” (Virtual) on 25th June 2021.
India has the one of largest road network across the world, spanning over a total of 5.89 million km. The NHAI has awarded 1,330km of highways in the first half of FY21, which was 1.6x of the total awards in FY20 and 3.5x of the FY19-levels. NHAI has set a target of awarding 4,500km of projects in FY21.
The new and emerging technologies could play a pivotal role in improving and strengthening highways by induction of intelligent transport management solutions, advanced traffic management systems, interactive lights on highways, safety solutions, sensor networks, project monitoring information system, passenger amenities, etc. The 2nd edition of Roads and Highways Summit aims at discussing the impact of key policy developments, innovation in construction equipment and technologies, latest trends in construction, maintenance, O&M of road and highways, PPP models such as BOT/HAM/TOT, etc and way forward for roads & highways industry.
