Overview
Following the monumental success of World Food India 2023, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India has declared the dates of the third edition of World Food India 2024 from 19-22 September 2024, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
World Food India 2023 brought together investors, manufacturers, producers, food processors, buyers, exporters, policy makers, and every other stakeholder of the global food ecosystem under one roof, providing a platform explore Indian market across the value chain in food processing and retail, thus establishing India as the global hub for food processing.
WFI 2023 was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 3rd November 2023 and attracted participation from over 90 countries, 7 International Ministers, 9 Ministerial/Official delegations and 91 global CXOs attended the event, followed by a CEO Roundtable Meeting chaired by Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal. MoUs worth ₹33,129 crore were signed/ exchanged/ announced during the event, while 112 B2G and over 16,000 B2B meetings took place over the three-day event, which also saw over 700 international buyers visiting from across the globe. In addition, on the exhibition front, World Food India saw a record 1200+ exhibitors from over 15 countries and 23 Indian states, spread over 50,000 sqm. The valedictory session was graced by Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu on 5th November 2023.
India’s food processing sector is worth over $400 million and has grown rapidly with an average annual growth of about 9% in the last decade. To leverage this success, World Food India 2024 is envisaged on an even larger scale with an aim to showcase the country as the Food Basket of the World and explore the investment and collaboration opportunities for food processing stakeholders including food processors, technology & equipment manufacturers and suppliers, logistics players, cold chain operators as well as the food retailers.
