Trying to create the first genuine single window in terms of compliances and ease of approval process: Piyush Goyal
December 12, 2020
NEW DELHI, 12 December 2020: Mr Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commerce & Industry & Railways today said that the government is working on the 3-I principles for nation-building; Inspire, Initiate and Innovate.
Addressing the session, The Building Blocks of the New India, during FICCI's 93rd Annual General Meeting, Mr Goyal said, "We are trying to create the first genuine single window in terms of compliances and ease of approval process. We are making every effort towards this effect."
On manufacturing, Mr Goyal said that the government has identified 24 champion sectors that will add INR 200 lac crore in the next 10 years to the nation's manufacturing GDP and provide millions of jobs, besides creating the size and scale of manufacturing. Initiatives are being led by industry and sectoral leaders are leading the initiatives and are being encouraged to come up with actionable agenda.
Further, Mr Goyal said that scale of manufacturing, coupled with quality and productivity, can truly make India competitive in several sectors and help us move towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat, which will be an important building block of the new India that we are working for and are committed to achieving.
It is time that India demonstrates to the world our leadership position and commitment to quality. We need to work towards propagating Brand India, both in India and internationally, and create pride for the brand.
FICCI realizes that promoting start-ups and innovation is a critical building block for the new, inspired India. The 'FICCI Start-ups Meet Industry Series' was launched in the presence of the minister.
Mr Goyal said, "Start-ups are going to be the backbone of the New India. The start-up ecosystem is encouraging innovation, promoting and strengthening new young entrepreneurs, new businesses with new ideas, and new ways of doing business. This new FICCI initiative will help mentor them, which will enable a lot of start-up stories unfolding in days to come."
Mr Sandip Somany, Immediate Past President, FICCI & Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, Somany Impresa Group said that the pandemic has pushed us to think deeper and act faster on several reforms and measures. These measures, he said, are helping the economy revive and will also aid in the post-pandemic economic recovery.
FICCI is closely working with the government on a number of sectors under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative where we have already presented strategic roadmaps for various sectors, said Mr Somany.
Dr Sangita Reddy, President, FICCI while announcing the 'FICCI Start-ups Meet Industry Series' said that it is about energizing the industry through collaboration with start-up and giving start-ups a chance and opportunity to grow.
Dr Reddy also said that FICCI, during the pandemic had called out to all start-ups to enable them with a free membership.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr Rajan Bharti Mittal, Past President, FICCI & Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises said that the industry will back the government in all its endeavours.
