Global Critical Minerals Assets

Welcome to FICCI's Critical Mineral Assets Portal

Critical Mineral Opportunities for Resilient Supply Chains

Critical minerals are no longer only inputs for industry; they are strategic resources shaping the future of clean energy, advanced manufacturing, defence, mobility, electronics, digital technologies, and industrial competitiveness. As countries accelerate energy transitions and seek greater technological self-reliance, access to reliable, diversified, and transparent critical mineral supply chains has become a defining priority for governments and businesses alike. Yet, despite their growing importance, information on critical mineral assets across the world remains fragmented, scattered across multiple public and private sources, and often difficult to compare, interpret or translate into actionable business intelligence. For industry, this creates a significant barrier in identifying investment opportunities, assessing global supply potential, exploring partnerships, evaluating project maturity, and understanding where value-chain collaboration may be possible.

FICCI’s Critical Mineral Assets Data Initiative

In the critical minerals sector, not all data holds the same strategic value. Some datasets are publicly available but remain too broad, technical or fragmented to support investment and partnership decisions. Others contain valuable asset-level information but are difficult to access, dispersed across jurisdictions, or not organised in a manner that enables industry to quickly assess opportunities.

FICCI’s Critical Minerals Assets Portal has been developed to help bridge this information gap. Focused exclusively on critical minerals, the portal seeks to consolidate, organise and present relevant asset-level information in a single, accessible and industry-oriented platform. It begins with foundational questions that are central to critical mineral security: Where are critical mineral assets located? What minerals do they contain? What is their project status? And where can Indian and global industry identify opportunities for investment, collaboration, joint ventures, co-development and supply-chain diversification?

By bringing together structured information on critical mineral assets across geographies, including location details, mineral classifications, geographic coordinates, ownership information, project status and other strategically relevant data points, the portal aims to support more informed and targeted engagement by industry stakeholders.

Being a multi-year iterative initiative, over time, FICCI intends for the portal to evolve as a growing resource that can support deeper insights into the global critical minerals landscape. Beyond mapping assets, the initiative can help industry and policymakers better understand patterns of mineral availability, geographic concentration, supply-chain dependencies, emerging investment destinations, processing and value-addition opportunities, and areas where international partnerships may be most relevant.

Enabling Industry, Investment and Partnerships

The Critical Minerals Assets Portal is designed as a practical resource for industry members, policymakers, investors, technology providers, research institutions and other stakeholders seeking to navigate the critical minerals ecosystem with greater clarity. By improving access to consolidated and decision-useful information, FICCI aims to enable more informed business engagement, strengthen supply-chain resilience, and support India’s preparedness in securing critical mineral value chains.

This initiative reflects FICCI’s broader commitment to advancing India’s critical minerals agenda through industry dialogue, policy engagement, international partnerships, technology collaboration and knowledge-driven platforms. As the global race for critical minerals intensifies, transparent, accessible and actionable data will be essential to building resilient, diversified and future-ready supply chains. The Critical Minerals Assets Portal is intended to empower industry to identify opportunities, evaluate global mineral availability, explore strategic partnerships and build stronger, more secure and sustainable critical mineral value chains.
