This paper, developed under the aegis of RECEIC and Centre for Sustainability, with Chase India as the knowledge partner highlights the pivotal moment facing India’s chemical industry as it seeks to align with net zero goals. The study presents biomass as a viable strategic alternative, evaluates the economic and environmental benefits, and identifies key challenges to transition. It culminates in a comprehensive policy roadmap aimed at enabling long-term decarbonization of the sector.
