FICCI - Gujarat State Council, as the Industry Partner under the guidance of Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Ltd., successfully convened the "1st Industry-Academia Roundtable: Shaping the Future Talent Engine for Global Finance & Technology" at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 27 March 2026. The roundtable brought together leading colleges, universities, and academic institutions from Ahmedabad, along with key sectoral companies operating from GIFT City, enabling a focused and high-impact dialogue on building a future-ready, globally competitive talent ecosystem aligned with emerging sectors such as BFSI, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
The deliberations centred on establishing a strategic talent corridor between academia and industry, transitioning from a placement-driven model to a research-led and industry-integrated framework, and strengthening the talent pipeline through applied learning, structured thinking, and domain readiness. The discussions also emphasized fostering deeper co-creation between institutions and enterprises to ensure enhanced industry alignment and day-one job readiness for future professionals.
The roundtable culminated in a strategic consensus to institutionalize a collaborative co-creation framework between academia and industry, translating into actionable interventions aimed at building a future-ready talent pipeline while further reinforcing GIFT City’s positioning as a global hub for finance and technology.
