FICCI has instituted Award for best practices in SMART Policing in India. The award ceremony will be held on May 05, 2016. The objective is to promote initiatives taken by the Police for the safety and security of Indian citizens. This can change public perception and build positive and progressive image of the police among people.
Entries from 19 State Police Forces and 3 Central Armed Police Forces have been received in the following categories:
Women Safety
Child Safety
Cyber Security
Road Safety
Traffic Management Solutions
Community Policing
Elderly Safety
Human Trafficking
Anti-insurgency
Other Policing Initiatives
In addition, a compendium of best practices will also be prepared and shared with the relevant Ministries/Departments in the Central as well as State Governments. This compendium will help Govt. machinery and Police Departments in learning from the experiences of other states and also for possible adoption of the best practices to further enhance policing.
