Established in 2006, the FICCI Health Services Committee serves as a leading industry-government platform dedicated to advancing India's healthcare sector through policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, innovation promotion, knowledge leadership, and healthcare system strengthening.
Over the past two decades, the Committee has brought together policymakers, healthcare providers, industry leaders, academia, startups, development partners, and international organizations to address critical healthcare challenges and support the vision of accessible, affordable, quality, and technology-enabled healthcare for all.
The Committee's work spans a wide range of priorities including healthcare standards and quality, digital health, healthcare workforce development, nursing reforms, diagnostics, primary healthcare, non-communicable diseases, cancer care, healthy ageing, healthcare innovation, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
FICCI has played a key role in shaping national healthcare frameworks and reforms, including Standard Treatment Guidelines, National Costing Guidelines, Electronic Health Record (EHR) Standards, Ayushman Bharat, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), National Health Policy, medical education reforms, and healthcare infrastructure development.
Through policy recommendations, task forces, knowledge papers, innovation platforms, stakeholder consultations, and public-private partnerships, the Committee continues to support evidence-based policymaking and healthcare transformation in India.

Healthcare has become one of India's largest sectors, both in terms of revenue and employment. The sector has grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.52% between 2016 and 2022. The Indian healthcare market, which was valued at US$ 110 billion in 2016 is now projected to reach US$ 638 billion by 2025.
The Government of India, through its National Health Policy and with wide-ranged central schemes and programs, has been playing a crucial role in achieving the progress for the healthcare goals. The country has witnessed a transformative shift in healthcare policy and practice with government’s ambitious initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country.
All these initiatives are complemented through collaborations with the private sector, non-profit organizations, healthcare start-ups and international partners, who have been instrumental in expanding access to advanced medical services, fostering innovation in healthcare delivery, improving healthcare outcomes and promoting health equity across the country.
