FICCI Taskforce on Horticulture
The FICCI Horticulture Task Force is committed to positioning horticulture as a central pillar of India’s agricultural growth and rural transformation. By promoting the cultivation of high-value crops, enhancing farmer incomes, and strengthening market linkages, the Task Force envisions a vibrant, inclusive, and technology-enabled horticulture ecosystem.
To achieve this, the Task Force advocates for the development of a comprehensive national policy framework that synergizes government initiatives with industry-led efforts. It emphasizes the importance of private sector engagement in adopting horticulture clusters and supporting the entire value chain—from pre-production and production to post-harvest management, marketing, and branding—in a holistic and integrated manner.
The Task Force’s strategic priorities include minimizing post-harvest losses through improved infrastructure, deploying innovative technologies to enhance global competitiveness, and converging existing government schemes to seamlessly integrate stakeholders into global value chains. Furthermore, it focuses on building capacity through tailored, cluster-specific interventions to ensure long-term sustainability and equitable growth in the horticulture sector.
