FICCI leads Business Delegation to X International IT Forum, Russia

Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia), 5 June 2018: The Russian-Indian partnership has experienced an upward trend in the past years with stronger strategic, economic and diplomatic relations between both the nations. With an aim to strengthen this partnership, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) along with several industry members, is participating in X International IT Forum on 5-6 June, 2018 at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The IT Forum brings together industry leaders from BRICS and SCO nations as well as other countries to a single platform to interact and discuss collaboration in the field of Information Technology and Digital Transformation.

 

FICCI is leading a 20 member Indian delegation, consisting of government officials, industry leaders and sectoral experts to the IT Forum. The prime objective of the visit is to leverage on the unique strengths of the Indian IT industry and Russia���s innovative products. The delegation members would also explore partnership and business opportunities in the area of digital and disruptive technologies.  

 

During the opening ceremony of the IT Forum, Mr. Alok Raj, Minister (Education), Indian Embassy at Russia highlighted how India is going to be a key market in the future. It will become even more important with growing strategic collaborations in various sectors. He emphasized the importance of strategic partnership between India and Russia.

 

With an objective to showcase the strength of Indian Information Technology, Start-ups and Electronics Industry, members of Indian delegation are also participating as Exhibitors under the India Pavilion coordinated by FICCI at the forum. Several sector-specific seminars and B2B sessions are also being organized by FICCI at the India pavilion. Several strategic sessions on Smart Cities, Information infrastructure of the digital economy, Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence, Joint project initiatives in the BRICS and SCO space are also being organised at the forum.

 

The delegation also met the senior officials from Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra to discuss potential areas for future cooperation. More than 1,500 participants from 55 countries, 43 regions and 26 constituent entities of the Russian Federation participated in the forum, which has established itself as an international venue for discussion of key issues in development and implementation of Digital Economy in the region.
