FICCI constituted a Furniture committee with leading furniture manufacturers, exporters, and retailers in April 2020. The committee works with the Government, industry, and other stake holders with the objective to make India a self-reliant country in terms of furniture industry and a global supplier and exporter of furniture.
It interacts regularly with the Government, industry, and stakeholders to address the challenges and work on different issues including availability of raw material, build scale, reduce logistics cost, skill development, capacity utilization, ease of doing business, PLI scheme, etc.
The committee is also working with Central and State Governments on identifying and setting up of furniture hubs and played an important role in facilitating furniture park in Tamil Nadu.
