NEW DELHI, 25 October 2018: The Seoul Peace Prize Committee's decision to confer the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize on Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi is a recognition of India's growing stature in the world as one of the most significant nations driving international cooperation and economic growth.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done tremendous work in improving international cooperation and raising aspirations of the people in India through major reform initiatives besides contributing immensely to the global economic growth by actively participating in the deliberations to enhance growth prospects. FICCI congratulates him on the recognition of his good work by the Seoul Peace Prize Committee," said Mr Rashesh Shah, President, FICCI.
"Along with its emergence as the fastest growing nation in the world, India's proactive role under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting regional and global peace initiatives and his 'Act East Policy' has made the country a formidable player in critical global deliberations," said Mr Shah.
He added that one of the most significant contributions of Prime Minister Modi has been his measures to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor by bringing in schemes like PM Jan Dhan Yojana and Ayushmaan Bharat, besides promoting self-employment and the Startups and MSMEs. This is expected to drive the next round of growth in India, said Mr Shah.
