NEW DELHI, October 31, 2018: Congratulating Indian government for another big jump (23 notches to 77th position among 190 countries) in the ease of doing business ranking of the World Bank, Mr Rashesh Shah, President, FICCI said, "India has witnessed yet another significant jump in the World Bank's ease of doing business ranking this year as a result of consistent collaborative efforts of the Government to simplify the processes and provide an investor friendly environment for the business. This year's leap in the ranking reflects the depth of reforms been undertaken by the Government not just at the centre but also at the state level with the support of the State governments".
Mr Shah further said, "Significant improvement in the ranking for construction permits, trading across borders and starting a business would provide more confidence to the investors and also help in integrating our country in global value chains further".
"Going forward, we hope to see further improvement in India's ranking next year and achieving the target of 50 looks very much feasible now," said Mr Shah.
