Samir Modi takes over as CACCI President at the 32nd CACCI Annual Conference in Istanbul, Turkey

NEW DELHI, 26 November 2018: Mr Samir Modi, Executive Director, KK Modi Group and Member of the FICCI Executive Committee took over as President of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) for 2 years during the 32nd Annual Conference Meeting (23-24 November 2018) in Istanbul, Turkey.

CACCI is a non-governmental regional grouping of apex national chambers and business enterprise in Asia Pacific and the Western Pacific. FICCI is the primary member of CACCI in India and Mr KK Modi, Past President, FICCI, serves as President Emeritus, CACCI. FICCI has played an instrumental role in enhancing India's economic relations with the Asia Pacific countries.

The CACCI annual conference attracts industry leaders from across Asia-Pacific countries and serves as an important platform to discuss and deliberate upon key economic issues impacting global businesses.

In his formal acceptance speech, Mr Samir Modi emphasized on the power of thoughts and ideas to transform the world. He said that the Asia Pacific region serves as one of the most promising region in the current times. He highlighted that during his tenure as CACCI President, he aims to strengthen Industry participation, especially young entrepreneurs in the CACCI activities and conferences.  

Mr Sanjay Bhattacharya, Indian Ambassador to Turkey, in his key note address, reiterated India's importance for the world economy from the Indo-pacific perspective and presented India as an opportunity for the CACCI members.

The year 2020 would be an important year for India with respect to CACCI as it will be hosting the annual conference of CACCI.
