'Strong focus on manufacturing and empowering the youth is key'
NEW DELHI, 15 December 2018: Mr Anand Sharma, Member of Parliament and Deputy Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, today emphasized that in order to improve the image of India, it is pertinent that the focus should be on creation of more jobs.
Speaking at the 91st Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Mr Sharma emphasized on investment in education, training in skills and growth in the manufacturing sector along with focus on creating enough job opportunities for the youth.
Mr Sharma also said that India is respected for its diversity, 'a beautiful bouquet', the changes have to be for the betterment of the country and emphasized on creating a stronger and stable institutional framework.
He also stressed on keeping India's stance firm in the context of tariff duties imposed by the US on certain Indian goods so as to send a strong message. Since the global trading system is perceived to be under threat, he also expressed his concerns on the Brexit impact on India.
