NEW DELHI, 16 December 2019: Mr Suresh Prabhu, G7 and G20 Sherpa for India, and MP, Rajya Sabha, today urged the industry to focus on developing smart border solutions so that there should be minimal casualties to the security forces.
Speaking at the conference on 'Smart Border Management 2019', organized by FICCI, jointly with India Foundation, Mr Prabhu said, "How do you ensure that you have borders without having any casualties? You must focus on smart solutions and how to manage them."
Mr Prabhu, while highlighting drone challenges, said that small drones can be manufactured at very low cost and yet pose a risk to the already established security networks.
"If you can develop better utilities at the best possible cost then it will be a cost advantage for you," added Mr Prabhu.
He said that border management and economy are interlinked and in order to improve border security it is imperative that both border as well as internal situations are well addressed.
"In managing the border, you just can't secure the territory but also what happens inside the border like economic activity," said Mr Prabhu.
