Partnerships on Innovation imperative for India- North America relationship

NEW DELHI, 14 September 2021:  LEADS is curated as a strategic platform for global leaders from Asia, Europe, Africa, CIS, Americas & the Pacific, to deliberate on the tenets of Leadership, economic Excellence and Adaptability to change and to build on pillars of Diversity and Sustainability.

Speaking at the 'LEADS 2021 - North America Session on Future of Innovation in India-North American Partnerships', Mr Devin Narang, Senior Member FICCI Executive Committee and Country Head-India, Sindicatum Renewable Energy Company today said that innovation is the most powerful tool for stimulating economic growth and improving human standards of living in the long term. He added that there is huge potential for cooperation to pursue a win-win outcome between India which is a rising economic power and North America.

Mr Dilip Chenoy, Secretary General, FICCI highlighted that FICCI is fostering innovation through two of such initiatives; Millennium Alliance & India Innovation Growth Programme (IIGP) supporting game changing innovations to scale in India and around the world.

Mr Surya Kant, Chairman, Tata Consultancy Services, USA, shared that Indian IT companies has been steadily moving up the value chain and supporting North American companies for digital transformation and economic growth.

Mr Umesh Sachdev, CEO & Co-founder, Uniphore suggested that joint investment in key areas of innovation like AI, IOT, Automation are defining areas of collaboration between India and North America.

Mr Bipul Sinha, Chief Executive Officer, Rubrik USA, said that we are in an exciting era of India- North America partnership; confidence, knowledge & lowering down the cost of starting business has led us into this era.

Mr William L. Blair, Chief Executive, Lockheed Martin India, said that innovation translating to inclusive growth is crucial for India and North America. He also added that innovation & connectivity in areas of Renewable Energy, Space, Defence, Aerospace, are the futures of growth between India & US.

The session was concluded with the following key outcomes:

  1. North America is a repository of cutting-edge technology that is highly relevant to India's economic growth.
  2. Only partnership & cooperation on innovation, will germinate growth between India and North America.
  3. AI, machine learning, Quantum computing are emerging areas of innovation between India and North America.
