Realizing the importance of hydrogen for decarbonization of industry and helping the country to embark on a carbon neutral energy system in future, the government of India is laying a lot of emphasis on hydrogen, especially generating hydrogen from green power sources.

Realizing the importance of hydrogen for decarbonization of industry and helping the country to embark on a carbon neutral energy system in future, the government of India is laying a lot of emphasis on hydrogen, especially generating hydrogen from green power sources.

The FICCI Hydrogen Energy Committee aims to work towards developing and evolving a consolidated industry position for the creation of a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem in the country. The Committee through its policy and regulatory interventions and recommendations, aims to work synergistically with the government to realize India’s hydrogen energy dream.

FICCI has been actively working with the government in its quest to promote hydrogen. FICCI is a member of the MNRE Committee to Examine Relative Advantages of Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Batteries for Energy Storage and Transport. FICCI is also a member of the MNRE Standing Committee on Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cells. As a member of this Standing Committee, FICCI has given inputs for the draft National Hydrogen Energy Mission that aims to scale up Green Hydrogen production and utilization across multiple sectors and align India’s efforts with global best practice in technology, deployment, policy, and regulation. The Mission document is under finalization.
