Japan is the 5th largest investor in India and has been a strong contributor in the economic growth of various Indian States. It is one of the most important development partners for India and has also been a great friend of India. The last few years have seen an impressive expansion in India-Japan bilateral relations to deepen India’s ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership’ with Japan.
FICCI is organizing a Business Delegation to Tokyo, Japan from 11-13 March 2024. During this visit FICCI will be organising following business meetings for the Indian delegation:
• 47th India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee Meeting
• Interactive Meeting with Indian Ambassador in Tokyo
• Meeting in METI Ministry (subject to confirmation)
• Interactive Meeting with Trade Associations (JETRO, JCCI, Keidanren / JICA) in Tokyo
• Visit to Industrial Cluster in Tokyo
India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (IJBCC) is one of the oldest institutional mechanisms between India and Japan since 1967. It has been supplementing Government of India’s holistic agenda with Japan and helped in highlighting the issues and opportunities for industry in both our countries. The IJBCC has brought in tangible results in implementation of CEPA and the social security agreements between the two countries. The 47th IJBCC Meeting will be chaired by H.E. Mr. Ken Saito, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Government of Japan.
The Indian delegation will be led by Mr Onkar S Kanwar, Past President, FICCI & CMD, Apollo Tyres Ltd and Mr. Tatsuo Yasunaga, Chairman, Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee and Representative Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mitsui & Co. Ltd. will lead from Japan for the 47th IJBCC Meeting.
