Training Programme on Chemical & Industrial Safety: Disaster Risk Reduction
Jun 06 - Jun 07, 2024 FICCI, New Delhi, 1030 hrs to 1700 hrs
Overview

FICCI is organizing a two-day training programme on Chemical & Industrial Safety: Disaster Risk Reduction. Chemical and industrial safety are crucial components of disaster risk reduction (DRR) efforts. Effective safety measures in chemical and industrial facilities not only protect workers but also prevent environmental pollution and mitigate the risk of disasters. DRR strategies focus on identifying potential hazards, implementing preventative measures, and establishing emergency response plans to minimize the impact of accidents or natural disasters. Through comprehensive risk assessments, regular safety audits, and employee training programs, chemical and industrial facilities can significantly reduce the likelihood of accidents and ensure a safer working environment for all.

The two-day training programme aims to enhance participants' understanding of potential hazards, risk assessment techniques, and safety protocols essential for disaster risk reduction. Through interactive sessions and case studies, participants will gain insights into identifying, assessing, and managing risks effectively. The training will focus on developing emergency response plans, implementing preventative measures, and fostering a safety culture within chemical and industrial facilities. Throughout the training, participants will engage in discussions and hands-on activities aimed at equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to mitigate risks effectively. Topics such as chemical handling procedures, storage protocols, hazard identification, emergency response strategies, and regulatory compliance will be covered in-depth. By the end of the training, participants will not only have a better understanding of chemical and industrial safety but will also be better prepared to contribute to disaster risk reduction efforts within their respective workplaces.

Upon completion of the two-day training programme, participants will receive a “Certificate of Participation”. Participants must attend both days of the training to be eligible for the certificate. Organizations can nominate officers to participate in this training programme (There is no registration fee to attend the workshop).
