The states in this region are crucial to India's growth narrative, with initiatives aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, such as "Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik" (UDAN) and helicopter services, significantly improving the lives of local communities. These efforts help fulfill the aspirations of residents to travel, while also fostering economic development and mobility. They play a vital role in overcoming challenges like limited connectivity - regionally, nationally, and globally - difficult terrains, and restricted economic opportunities.

 

The aviation sector is key to India's global integration and plays a significant role in the nation's economic progress. The North East Region offers immense opportunities within the aviation industry to further contribute to this growth story. To advance this goal, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, with the support of Government of Meghalaya and FICCI, is organizing the 2nd North East Aviation Summit 2024. This event aims to enhance regional connectivity and showcase India’s North Eastern states as prime destinations for industry, providing a gateway to the world.
