Energy Storage Task Force
Energy Storage systems (ESS) has emerged as a critical necessity for India in realizing its objectives of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030. With the increase in penetration of Renewable energy sources, it will be challenge for grid operators to ensure grid reliability and supply of 24 X 7 quality power, thereby paving the way for deployment of energy storage systems for grid support.
Recognizing the crucial role of Energy Storage in the future landscape of renewables, the FICCI Energy Storage Committee addresses the evolving needs of this transformative energy landscape. The Committee comprises of more than 15 companies in energy storage domain.
The Committee is working towards developing and evolving a consolidated industry position for the cost-effective deployment of energy storage technologies in the country. The committee aims to create a sustainable energy storage ecosystem in the country through its policy and regulatory framework interventions and recommendations to the government.
