FICCI Taskforce on Fragrances has been formed to work towards the holistic development of fragrance sector in India. The broad aim of the Taskforce is to develop a robust system to ensure appropriate consumer protection and respect for the environment regarding fragrance materials. The major objectives identified by the taskforce includes raising awareness and share international best practices so that local manufacturers can improve their systems and standards sustainability for a better social and economic environment, Improving general awareness about occupational safety and health in the workplace in order to minimize potential adverse health and environmental effects, studying best practices from other regions to meet the local needs (e.g. Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and Classification, Labeling and Packaging (CLP) and setting up an appropriate regulatory framework.
